The Commission has a special model and simultaneously performs state management functions in three areas: competition management, protecting consumer rights and multi-level business, and litigation and jurisdiction.

This Commission is established on the basis of the reorganization of the Vietnam Competition and Consumer Authority, the Council and the Office of the Competition Authority. The Commission has an assisting apparatus which is an agency to investigate competition cases. During the investigation process, this agency has the right to collect information and summon witnesses to detect acts of violation.
