17 plays from 14 art troupes received big applause from the audience, especially teenagers and children. People's Artist Xuan Bac, Head of the Festival’s Jury, said the works conveyed positive messages in a gentle, fun way.
“Stories that seemed old are actually not old. Characters in books have come on the stage for children and performing art has proven its strong attraction to the young audience,” Mr. Bac said.
The Jury awarded gold medals to four plays, including "The story of the seagull and the cat who teaches her to fly" by the Youth Theater, “The holy dragon returns” by the Vietnam Drama Theater, “Adventures of a cricket” by Hai Phong Puppet Art Troupe, and “Magical sticky rice or the story of Bom” by the Hanoi Cheo Theater.
