(VOVworld)- The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Kien Giang provincial People’s Committee on Sunday evening held a ceremony to open the National Tourism Year 2016 of Phu Quoc and the Mekong river delta under the theme “Discovery of the southern land”.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam addressed the opening ceremony that over the past 30 years national renewal, the tourism sector has grown steadily, contributing 6.3% of the national GDP, boosting other economic sectors and forging friendship with the rest of the world. Deputy PM Dam pledged to crate favorable conditions for the tourism sector’s development by upgrading infrastructure and improve administrative procedures for visas, traveling, investment and business activities.
