(VOVworld) - More than 1,000 NATO paratroopers joined a military exercise in Hohenfels in southern Germany on Wednesday as part of NATO’s largest airborne training exercise namely “Swift Response-2015” in Europe since the end of the Cold War.

The exercise showcased the capacity to rapidly deploy multinational high-readiness forces in case of emergency.
The drill involved 650 paratroopers from Germany’s Airborne Brigade No.1 while Poland and Netherlands deployed 150 each. A total of more than 4,800 soldiers took part in the airborne drills taking place in Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, and Romania.
