(VOVworld) – UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will take part in the opening ceremony of the 31st Olympic Games, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro on Friday. Brazil’s media said that Mr. Ban will attend a meeting Friday night for heads of state hosted by Brazil’s acting President Michel Temer. He will also visit the Olympic Village and meet competitors including the first-ever Refugee Olympic Team.
Ban Ki-moon has called for a ceasefire during the 31st Olympic Games.
