Addressing a conference in Hanoi on Wednesday hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, delegates called for incentives to support the industry, especially in technology transfer of environmentally friendly products and more public awareness raising on the long-term benefit of organic fertilizer. Nguyen Hong Lam, Chairman of the Board of Que Lam Group asked for more guidance provided to farmers and businesses. He said: “To promote organic fertilizer production, we should build up trust among users and farmers as well as a supply chain of clean farming products. We have coached farmers on the positive impact of organic fertilizer on human health.”

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong said organic fertilizer is inevitable for Vietnamese farming and this should be institutionalized in amendment to the Law on Plantation. He added: “This is an opportunity for business to cater for 15 million hectares of cultivated land or a demand of some 80 million tons of organic fertilizers. In the implementation of the Law on Plantation and Decree 109 on organic fertilizer, communications for farmers, collectives and producers should be enhanced towards inevitable trend of clean farming.”
