Ambassador Ngo Huong Nam told the participants that the year 2019 was a milestone in the Vietnam-Australia strategic partnership, with impressive bilateral cooperation. In 2020, Vietnam embarks on new missions, as it assumes the ASEAN Chair and is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
Pham Thi Le Anh, a Vietnamese living in Canberra said she and her family attend the Tet festival for the Vietnamese community in Australia every year to be more connected to her homeland and community. Anh said: “I am very moved to be invited to the traditional Lunar New Year festival in Canberra. Living far away from home, I miss my homeland. The Vietnamese Embassy organizes the annual warm and cozy Tet festival for us to remember our homeland. Parents, husbands, wives, and children are happy, enjoying traditional food and songs and meeting friends.”
