(VOVworld) – A US proposal on a peace agreement framework for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict will be announced in a couple of weeks. Palestine on Wednesday issued a list of “red lines” of non-negotiable options with Israel.
Accordingly, the US compiled document must include Israeli withdrawal from all Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 within a time frame of 3 or 4 years, plus the full release of Palestinian prisoners. The document must also recognize East Jerusalem as the capital city of the Palestinian state.
The red lines also include a call to solve the refugee issue, based on UN General Assembly Resolution 194, and a refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state. The Palestinians stated that there can be no just or comprehensive peace in the region without upholding these principles.
