(VOVWORLD) - Palestine will freeze its ties with the US if the Palestine Liberation Organization’s (PLO) office is forced to shut in Washington DC, PLO Secretary General Saeb Erekat said in a statement on Saturday.

Earlier that day, the State Department refused to renew operating permission for PLO office in Washington for the first time since the 1980s, saying Palestine reportedly ran afoul of a US law by calling for Israelis to be prosecuted by the International Criminal Court. It is unclear when PLO office is closed.
