(VOVWORLD) - Indonesia's transport ministry says efforts are underway to repair damaged infrastructure at Palu's Sis Al Jufri airport, after the town and its surrounding regions suffered an earthquake and tsunami last Friday.

Following the disasters, around 500m of the 2,500m runway was damaged. Those damages will be repaired, and scheduled to be finished next Thursday, allowing CN 235, Airbus 320m and Airbus 727 to resume operations. The reopen will contribute to push the transportation of aids to Palu. Direct fly from Jakarta to Palu will soon be resumed.
