Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong pays working visit to Ba Ria Vung Tau
(VOVworld) - Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong has paid a two-day working visit to Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to explore local social economic development, Party building, security and defense.
He asked Ba Ria - Vung Tau to focus on regional connectivity and developing marine economy. “The province should invest more on marine economy and offshore fishing, together with protecting national independence and sovereignty. I agree that the province should better develop Con Dao island. The province has finalized its master planning and regional development plans. Now it has to analyze specific programs matching the local resources. The island has an important location and we need to develop its economy, tourism, and security and defense.”

He told local authorities and people in Dat Do district that Party members and officials must be closely linked to people and work for people’s interests: “Party cells must be clean and make sure that officials should be close to people in an organic relation. The Party, government and fatherland front should build up a robust mechanism with unity and solidarity.”
The Party leader praised local achievements in building new rural areas and called for measures to ensure sustainability.
