(VOVworld) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has paid a working visit to Vinh Long province to inspect the implementation of the Party’s resolutions, the development of new rural areas and Party building. During a visit to Long My commune, Mang Thit district, on Monday, Mr. Trong praised Long My’s achievements in socio-economic development. The Party chief urged Vinh Long to support the district to organize new type of collectives and production linkage.

The same day, Mr. Trong worked with key leaders of the province. He called on the province to fully tap its geographical potential to create a new regional connectivity. He also emphasized urgent issues in party building: “The resolution of the Party plenum raises 8 issues. Criticism and self-criticism is not enough. Ideology, personnel and organization work is also party building. We need a mechanism to uphold the people’s mastery in party building. The National Assembly has just approved a resolution on votes of confidence. This is a measure to ensure that every cadre, especially officials, should fulfill their duties correctly”.

On Sunday, the Party leader offered incense in remembrance of the late Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Pham Hung, at his monument in Long Ho district, and the late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet at his monument in Vung Liem district.
