Professor Yang said the joint statement issued following the visit shows that the scope of cooperation has been expanded with topics developed in a more comprehensive direction.

Vietnam and China have reached a new starting point in their relations in the new era, said Yang, adding that Chinese scholars expect that relations between the two Parties, governments, and peoples will make progress in the future and gain even greater achievements.

“The visit was a great success. It plays a very important role in promoting the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam, in strengthening and deepening the bilateral ties in the new era, including boosting regional stability and development,” said Yang.

He said he believes that in the near future these results will clearly indicate the development direction of China-Vietnam relations and help the two move forward.
