(VOVworld)- The Party Poliburo on Thursday met to review its Resolution 45 on Can Tho city's construction and development from 2006 to 2011. Party General  Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said the Can Tho Party Committee has worked closely with central agencies to achieve major results to contribute to the Mekong Delta’s development: “Efforts should be made to boost Can Tho city’s central role in the southern key economic region.  We should fully mobilize local resources and adjust the city’s zoning plan to boost regional development”.

The Politburo spoke highly of Can Tho’s efforts to maintain fast and sustainable growth in combination with economic and growth model restructure to improve its competitiveness. The Poliburo also called on the city to improve the quality of the political system, and strengthen human resources to meet development demands.
