Pentagon: Pyongyang has at least 6 road-mobile ICBM launchers
(VOVworld) – Pyongyang has at least six Hwasong-13 road-mobile long-range missile launchers, the Pentagon said in its annual report entitled “Military and Security Developments involving the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) 2013”. The report said that the Hwasong-13 intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) have a range of more than 3,400 miles, but its capability has yet to be tested.

In this year's document, the department noted that launches of the Taepodong-2 had been observed from both east and west coast launch facilities. The department maintained its view that Pyongyang has around a 950,000-strong ground force, with the number of tanks and armed vehicles at about 4,200 and 2,200, respectively. The Pentagon stressed Pyongyang remains "one of the United States' most critical security challenges."
The report was issued after Pyongyang carried out short-range missile tests on the country’s eastern coast, which it claimed to be part of DPRK’s military exercises. Meanwhile, the US and the Republic of Korea are holding their own annual joint military exercises called “Foal Eagles”.
