Peru-Vietnam Inter-Governmental Committee convenes first session
(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai has said the first meeting of the Peru-Vietnam Inter-Governmental Committee will create a premise for further cooperation in economy, trade, investment, agriculture, and science-technology.

Hai made the statement at Tuesday’s meeting of Peru-Vietnam Inter-Governmental Committee on Economic Issues and Technical Cooperation in Lima, Peru.
During the 2-day meeting, Hai said that so far this year export-import revenue between the two countries has reached 345 million USD, up 37%.
He underlined the operation of Telecoms Group Viettel and Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) in Peru, and said he hopes the Peruvian government will provide more support for Vietnamese businesses.
Peruvian Deputy Foreign Minister Nestor Popolizio Bardales said Vietnam’s hosting of APEC for the second time demonstrates Vietnam’s growing prestige and expanding role worldwide. He added that as the host of APEC 2016, Peru is ready to support Vietnam in preparations for the upcoming APEC Week. Bardales said he hopes for further cooperation between the Pacific Alliance, which was established in 2011 on Peru’s initiative, and ASEAN.
