The Philippine President’s spokesperson, Salvador Panelo, said Sunday that the Philippine army will fight and exterminate all terrorists. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the bombings. The first bomb went off in or near the cathedral during Sunday mass. The second blast occurred outside the compound as government forces were responding to the attack, security officials said.
