(VOVworld) – Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan praised the important role of the planning and investment sector in national growth at a ceremony on Wednesday to mark the sector’s 70^th anniversary. She said that the sector has contributed significantly to turning Vietnam from a low income country into a middle income country. Madame Doan said: “The Ministry of Planning and Investment should consult Vietnamese leaders on socio-economic development to increase competitiveness and labor productivity. It should tighten investment management to avoid waste and increase transparency. Efforts should be made to reform administrative procedures and improve the investment environment.”

The Ministry of Planning and Investment received the Ho Chi Minh Order for the second time on this occasion.
