(VOVworld) – The 4^th National Environment Conference was held in Hanoi on Wednesday. In his address, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said investment projects that created environmental pollution would not be allowed: “It is necessary to promote energy saving production technologies and low-carbon industries. Green and environmentally-friendly products and services should be developed. Investment projects that might harm the environment will not be licensed. Vietnam should not become a dump for outdated technologies from developed nations.”

Prime Minister Dung called for increased awareness of environmental protection in the community, diversified investment sources for environmental protection, and the application of science and technology in response to climate change. He said that Vietnam was ready to cooperate with and contribute to efforts to protect the environment.
