PM calls for enhancing Vietnamese women’s potential, creativity
(VOVWORLD) - The 13th National Women’s Congress opened at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi on Thursday drawing 959 official delegates representing women of all classes across the country.
Addressing the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised Vietnamese women for their contributions to national construction and defence, especially during the country’s fight against COVID-19.

He asked the Vietnam Women’s Union to firmly grasp the views, guidelines and policies of the Party, continue to consolidate its organizational structure and renew operations to become a professional and effective organization for women’s comprehensive development.
"We need to bring into play the role, potential and strength of women in all aspects and at the same time better care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of women. We need to implement coordinated measures to enhance women’s advancement," said the Prime Minister.
He expressed his belief that after this congress, officials and members of the union will become more aware, thus creating new development momentum for women's movement in the country.
