PM calls for more support from WB

(VOV) – Vietnam hopes to receive more effective support and assistance from the World Bank to implement development targets. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement while receiving WB Country Director Victoria Kwakwa in Hanoi on Thursday. Exchanging views on the macroeconomic situation in Vietnam with Kwakwa, Dung said Vietnam’s goal is to stabilize the macroeconomy to ensure sustainable development. He added that the country expects to keep inflation at 8 percent this year and limit overspending to 4.8 percent of the gross domestic product. Dung said he hopes the WB will continue to support Vietnam in pursuing its development goals and completing key transport and poverty reduction projects, provide policy consultancy, and share its experience in dealing with bad debts. Kwakwa promised the World Bank is continued assistance to Vietnam.
