PM calls for stronger reform of state-owned enterprises
(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has stressed the government’s determination to continue improving performance of state-owned enterprises.
Chairing a meeting on reforming and improving performance of state-owned enterprises in Hanoi on Wednesday, Prime Minister Phuc said the Party and State will continue to fight corruption and remove obstacles in equitizing state-owned enterprises and divesting capital. He added: “In a changing world, enterprises must undertake reform and restructuring to increase productivity, quality, and competitiveness amid the digital age. I set an overall goal of restructuring and improving performance of state-owned enterprises on the basis of advanced technology, innovation, international-level management to mobilize, distribute, and use effectively social resources.”
Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue said positive results have been achieved in reforming and equitizing state-owned businesses. State-owned enterprises’ revenue in the first 8 months of this year reached 70% of the year’s target.
