(VOVworld) – Vietnam welcomes Swiss businesses who invest or expand their investment in Vietnam, especially in services, finance-banking, insurance, high-tech, manufacturing industry, and medicine.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc made the call at a reception in Hanoi on Tuesday for Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch, State Secretary and Director of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland.
Mr. Phuc spoke highly of the 2012 recognition by Switzerland and the European Free Trade Association that Vietnam is a market economy.
He said he hopes Switzerland and other parties involved will step up negotiations on a free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Association including Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, and Liechtenstein. Mr. Phuc also expressed his hopes that Switzerland will continue to provide ODA for Vietnam.
The guest said Swiss businesses are keen on the Vietnamese market and that Vietnam is one of the favorite destinations for Swiss tourists. She added that one of main targets of her visit is to boost FTA negotiations between Vietnam and the European Free Trade Association.
