PM pays Tet visit to Binh Thuan province

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Monday paid a Tet visit to the leaders and people of Binh Thuan province. Dung also visited cadres and soldiers of the 681 Naval Unit in Tien Thanh commune, Phan Thiet city. The Prime Minister inspected the unit’s training and their capacity to operate modern weapons, including the coastal Bastion missile system and the Monolit-B coastal radar system. He asked the unit to be well prepared for all situations. The same day, Dung inspected an irrigation project on the Quao River and burned incense to commemorate president Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh museum, and visited the former Duc Thanh school where the president taught in 1910. Dung also discussed with local authorities socio-economic issues in the province. He said Binh Thuan needs to focus on agricultural development and building new rural areas. The PM stressed on more efforts to make full use of local advantages for sustainable development. Dung also urged Binh Thuan to pay more attention to investment attraction and infrastructure development, including transportation, irrigation, electricity and clean water supplies. The PM noted that the province continues to focus on healthcare, education, poverty reduction and land management.
