In an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Sydney, Vietnamese Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi said Vietnam and Australia have great cooperation potential and both should deepen their comprehensive partnership.
Professor Carl Thayer of the Australian Defence Force Academy has said PM Nguyen Tan Dung’s visit to Australia will provide renewed energy to bilateral relations. Professor Thayer said the visit will create fresh impetus to upgrade bilateral relations to a strengthened comprehensive partnership.
2015 marks the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-New Zealand diplomatic ties. Addressing a press conference early last month with New Zealand’s Ambassador to Vietnam to kick off the celebration, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung highlighted cooperation progress in economics, education and training, and agriculture. Trung noted that bilateral cooperation embraces great opportunities created by multilateral cooperative frameworks like the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and the World Trade Organization (WTO).
