(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Peacekeeping Centre and the Military Hospital 175 has concluded a 2-week course of practical training on level-2 field hospital equipment in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday.

The hospital model is set to join the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan next year.
Sen. Lieut. Gen. Pham Ngoc Minh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, said Vietnam’s participation in UN peacekeeping forces demonstrates its foreign policy of peace, cooperation, development, and multi-lateralisation and diversification of foreign relations.
Minh is also deputy head of the Defence Ministry’s steering committee for Vietnamese participation in UN peacekeeping operations.
US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Mary Tarnowka reiterated the US’s commitment to helping Vietnam enhance peace keeping capacity and become more confident, active, and influential in helping the international community address challenges.
