President inspects COVID response in HCM city
(VOVWORLD) - President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Tuesday inspected COVID-19 prevention and control and socio-economic development measures in HCM city, Vietnam’s epicenter during the ongoing 4th wave of coronavirus.

He said the pandemic has gradually been under control but prevention measures must be secured.
"I agree with the strategy to shift from zero COVID to safe adaptation to the epidemic. The new normal means the virus may continue to exist for a long time but it must not be spread on a large scale while vaccination and other prevention measures must be ensured. Epidemic control is the prerequisite for socio-economic recovery,” said President Phuc.
He said the success and sustainability of HCM city’s economy depends on its recovery and adaptability.
