(VOVWORLD) - President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has just completed an official friendship visit to Laosat the invitation of Thongloun Sisoulith, President of Laos and General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

Mr. Phuc's visit achieved a broad range of practical results, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung told the media this week. He said the leaders reached a consensus on policies and measures aimed at deepening the bilateral relationship substantially in politics, defense, security, education, economics, culture, and energy. They agreed to strengthen the connection between the two economies, seek new areas of cooperation to take advantage of opportunities, and meet the new requirements of Industry 4.0.
They pledged to continue working closely at regional and international forums, especially within ASEAN, and actively contribute to building a united community, while promoting ASEAN's role in handling shared challenges like East Sea disputes and the COVID-19 pandemic.
President Phuc's visit to Laos was a great success, making an important contribution to bolstering the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, Dung said.
