(VOVworld) – US President Barack Obama told Americans on Sunday that the threat from terrorism is real but the US will overcome it. In his Oval Office address on anti-terrorism efforts, Obama said terrorism has entered a new phase. He reiterated his firm conviction that the US will destroy the Islamic State and hunt down terrorist plotters in any country where it is necessary. The US should not be drawn once more into a long and costly ground war in Iraq or Syria, Obama said, adding that an extremist ideology has spread within some Muslim communities, so Islamic leaders need to work to reject such an ideology.
