(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang has called for more cooperation and information sharing between the Vietnam News Agency and Russia’s news agency ITAR-TASS to catch up with trends of international integration, development cooperation between the two countries and globally. Sang made the statement at a reception in Hanoi on Monday for visiting Director General of ITAR-TASS Sergei Mikhailov.

Mikhailov extended his condolences to the Vietnamese Party and State following the death of General Vo Nguyen Giap, saying that the Russian people always admire and respect the General, who contributed tirelessly to the friendship between Vietnam and Russia. Informing President Sang of the outcomes of talks between him and leaders of the Vietnam News Agency, Mikhailov said for the occasion of President Vladimir Putin’s upcoming visit to Vietnam, both agencies would organize an exhibition of 55 photos depicting their countries and people.
