At a hybrid meeting on Friday with the Supreme People’s Court and People’s Courts nationwide, President Lam said that 2024 is the year to speed up activities to successfully fulfill the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress by 2025. He asked the court system to focus on building a modern, professional, rule-of-law judicial system.
“It’s necessary to proactively research and prepare plans to carry out the court’s tasks in the time of comprehensive and extensive international integration, and digital transformation. Effort should be focused on effectively implementing judicial reform. It’s important to prepare a roadmap to carry out trials in the 5.0 era with the development of artificial intelligence, and the emergence of electronic evidence and crimes in the cyberspace," said President Lam.
He said that resources should be pooled to complete the building of e‑Courts by 2025, improve court administration capacity on a digital platform, and provide the people with convenient, open, and transparent judicial services.
The sector should focus on resolving cases promptly, especially cases directed by the Central Steering Committee on Corruption and Negative Phenomena Prevention and Control, President Lam said.
He asked the courts to strengthen their institutions to ensure consistent application of laws in trials, and to actively research and complete draft legal documents.
