(VOVworld)- President Truong Tan Sang received in Hanoi on Wednesday US Ambassador and Trade Representative Michael Froman. In his address, President Truong Tan Sang praised the cooperation between Vietnamese and US ministries and sectors in implementing the comprehensive partnership in various fields including economics and trade. The President expressed his hope that the US would pay more attention to the ASEAN Community as its major partner in the region. He stressed the importance of TPP negotiations in bilateral ties adding that Vietnam would do its utmost to narrow economic gaps with other countries in the region. He said he hoped the two countries would accelerate the negotiations. President Truong Tan Sang proposed the US remove its embargo against lethal weapon sales to Vietnam.
