He praised the Department for ensuring national security and maintaining social order and safety and asked for a focus on building a force of expertise and sharpness in professional skills to meet the requirements and tasks in the new period.

The Department needs to promote its role in all aspects of national security protection, a key factor contributing to strengthening the safe and healthy environment and maintaining social order and discipline and political stability to effectively serve the national tasks of socio-economic development and foreign affairs, he said.

President Phuc requested that the homeland security force adopt a specific plan and arrange forces to strengthen its base, especially in key areas, so as not to let unexpected incidents to happen and ensure absolute protection of security and safety during the national holidays on April 30 and May 1, events of the Party and State and the Southeast Asian Games in mid May.
