(VOVworld) - The forthcoming visit starting from Sunday by State President Truong Tan Sang to Japan is of great significance.

Vietnam Ambassador to Japan Doan Xuan Hung made the remark at a recent interview with VOV’s correspondent in the country ahead of the event. Ambassador Hung comments: “Vietnam and Japan now have a good relations and can boost it in all areas. President Sang’s upcoming visit to Japan is to consolidate bilateral political trust and strategic partnership with a longer vision”

Ambassador Hung said a lot of fields of cooperation are likely to develop following the visit. He talked about Japan’s ODA commitment prospects for Vietnam during the 2014 fiscal year: “Japan has been Vietnam’s largest provider of Official Development Assistance capital over the years and the Japanese government continues its commitments to offering top priority of this support for Vietnam in the future. Recently, Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung signed with Japan an agreement in climate change response and a deal worth 250 million USD  to improve economic management and competitive credit. This is an important direct source of finance for Vietnam’s state budget.”

Ambassador Hung noted that during this visit, both is expected to sign a new ODA agreement for the second phase of the 2013 fiscal year.
