(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Tuesday met with several leaders of countries and international organizations during the 55th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.

At a meeting with Lithuanian Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas, the two leaders agreed to enhance high-level delegation exchanges through various channels and effectively implement existing cooperation mechanisms between their respective Foreign Ministries.
Prime Minister Paluckas expressed interest in strengthening trade and energy cooperation with Vietnam and exploring potential areas like renewable energy and liquefied gas.

While meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Prime Minister Chinh emphasized the importance of maintaining and promoting bilateral cooperation, including delegation exchanges and resuming the Intergovernmental Committee on Economic and Trade Cooperation.
He also highlighted Vietnam’s balanced stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, advocating for peaceful resolutions based on international law and the UN Charter, while considering the legitimate interests of all parties. He reiterated Vietnam’s support for international mediation efforts to achieve lasting peace.
During his meeting with Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino Quintero, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the strong bond between the peoples of Vietnam and Panama provides a solid foundation for enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in politics, diplomacy, and economic and trade cooperation.
President Mulino Quintero, in turn, highlighted Vietnam's significant role for Panama and noted that the two nations have numerous opportunities to strengthen collaboration and complement each other in areas such as trade, services, infrastructure, electric vehicles, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
Meeting with WIPO Director General Daren Tang, Prime Minister Chinh praised the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for its 2024 Global Innovation Index (GII) report. He reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to advancing innovation, science, technology, and digital transformation and sought WIPO’s continued support to enhance Vietnam’s ranking in the GII.
