Prime Minister says economic development and social progress must go hand in hand
(VOVWORLD) - Social policies play a very important role in national construction and defense, which the Party and State of Vietnam consider both a goal and a driving force for national stability and sustainable development, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Prime Minister Chinh worked with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs on the sector's performance on Wednesday in Hanoi.
He urged the Ministry to continue to exercise well its assigned functions, tasks and powers. One of the major tasks of the sector is to realize the view that economic development goes hand in hand with social progress and fairness, paying more attention to the poor and disadvantaged people in society, he said.
Prime Minister Chinh requested the ministry to continue to improve and develop the labor market, especially high-quality workforce, build and refine the social safety net, and focus on building big data for management.
The ministry must continue to coordinate well in supporting and repatriating Vietnamese workers stranded in other countries in a humanitarian spirit amid complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, he said.
