Provinces continue to celebrate National Reunification Day
(VOVworld) – Activities marking the liberation of southern Vietnam and national reunification continued nationwide. A fireworks display was organized in Ho Chi Minh city together with several art performances and cultural activities. The northern province of Dien Bien held a performance in praise of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and the land and people of Dien Bien. The southern province of An Giang held an exchange honoring the 128-day campaign contributing to the success of the 1975 spring offensive. In the famous tourist site of Sapa in the northern province of Lao Cai, tourists were treated to a variety of festivities including a panpipe and flute festival, a love market at night and a tourism and trade fair. Nguyen Ngoc Hinh, Vice-chairman of Sapa District’s People’s Committee said: “The fair aims to promote Sapa’s tourism and encourages trade exchanges among different regions in Vietnam. Businesses, investors and producers will introduce their products in Sapa and help develop its economy and tourism.”
