(VOVworld) - The Italy-Vietnam Friendship Association has launched a publication in Italian called “Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos: integral part of Vietnam’s territory” to mark the 20th publishing anniversary of the Mekong Magazine. According to Sandra Scagliotti, Vietnamese Honour Consul in Turin city and chief editor of the publication, the publication represents the support of Italians for Vietnam’s efforts to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. She noted that the document will provide Italian readers with insights into Vietnam’s indisputable sovereignty over the two archipelagos and other East Sea-related issues.

The publication consists of political and historical documentation from Vietnam and other countries, especially the recent debate following China’s dispatching of the oil rig Haiyang 981 to Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf, which raised international concerns and threatened peace in the region and the world.
The Italy-Vietnam Friendship Association presented the publication to universities, individuals, and organizations in Italy and other European countries.
