(VOVworld) – During its half a century of development, Quang Ninh has become Vietnam’s economic, tourism and trade center. A meeting to mark the province’s 50^th founding anniversary took place in Ha Long city on Saturday night.  Quang Ninh, known as the land of mining, has revolutionary tradition and glorious history made by generations of miners. Today, the province has seen its high and stable economic growth. Addressing the meeting, Le Hong Anh, Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, praised the unity spirit, efforts and achievements made by Quang Ninh Party, government and people: “Quang Ninh has entered a new period of development amidst major opportunities. In the near future, the local Pary and people need to make greater efforts and seize any opportunity to build Quang Ninh into un industrialized and modernized province by 2015”.

For this occasion, Quang Ninh province is conferred with the Order of Independence, first class, and Ha Long is recognized as the first-class city.
