One of the largest projects is the My Thuy Port in Dong Nam Economic Zone, which will cost more than 600 million USD. The 680ha port will have 10 berths capable of receiving vessels up to 100,000 tons.

Another major project in the economic zone is the Quang Tri 1 thermal power plant which has a total investment of 2.4 billion USD and a capacity of 1,320 MW.

Nguyen Duc Chinh, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said: “Once in operation, these projects will strongly benefit the local investment and contribute to GDP growth. The development of the energy sector has become Quang Tri’s spearhead. By 2025, it is expected to generate more than 5,000 MW. Incentives should be offered to investors to realize these projects.”

Major investments have also been made in solar and wind energy, infrastructure, transportation, tourism, and high-tech agriculture.
