(VOVworld) - The Radio Asia Conference 2017 begins in Bangkok today, drawing hundreds of radio broadcasters, researchers, and experts across the Asia-Pacific and beyond.
At the opening ceremony, Secretary General of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Javad Mottagi underlined the importance of the conference as radio industry is challenged by other media forms and social network. If radio stations don’t adjust to adapt to meet public demand, they will be left behind. The Radio Asia Conference adopted the theme of passion for radio creation.
The conference will also be a platform for learning, sharing and innovating, as well as providing perspectives on content among regional broadcasters. Radio Asia 2017 has promoted the notion that collaborative content is key to future broadcasting, adding that reaching out to audiences to create a public dialogue will enhance public trust and help the radio format remain relevant into the digital age.
