RENEW raises 100,000 USD for mine clearance in Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) - An event held on Thursday by the “Restoring the Environment and Neutralising the Effects of the War” (RENEW) project in Washington D.C. completed its target of raising 100,000 USD for mine clearing in Vietnam's central province of Quang Ngai.

The event, taking place in both virtual and face-to-face forms, saw the participation of US officials and people, most of whom are Vietnam War veterans.
In his speech, veteran Chuck Searcy, co-founder of the project, said the funds raised will help expand de-mining activities to Quang Ngai, where there are many unexploded ordinances threatening the safety of the people.
Speakers at the fundraising event highlighted the importance of surmounting the consequences of the Vietnam War and called on benefactors to finance the clearance of bombs, mines, and explosives to contribute to war relief efforts.
