Revised draft law on civil aviation appraised
(VOVworld) – A conference to appraise the draft law on civil aviation opened in Hanoi on Tuesday chaired by National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu. The 2006 Law on Civil Aviation has helped the aviation sector to grow considerably but some shortcomings remain concerning aviation security and inspections, aviation service management, and flight licensing. The revised draft law will conform to Vietnam’s new Constitution and economic restructuring and international practices. Delegates suggested clarifying the functions and tasks of aviation authorities. Regarding aviation inspections, Deputy head of the National Assembly’s Committee for Legal Affairs Dang Dinh Luyen said: “We agree with the draft law that aviation inspectors must be specialized under state management. This regulation conforms to the 2012 law on handling administrative violations.”
Delegates also agreed that the draft law should stipulate regulations clarifying forces involved in ensuring aviation security.
