(VOVworld) – Republic of Korean Deputy National Security Advisor Cho Tae-yong and US Deputy Secretary of State Tony Blinken agreed in Seoul on Wednesday to keep up pressure on Pyongyang to force the North to abandon its nuclear weapons program.

The two leaders agreed that strong sanctions and pressure should be consistently maintained and strengthened and pledged to collaborate for more effective enforcement of UN sanctions.

On Tuesday, Blinken met with Republic of South Korean and Japanese Deputy Foreign Ministers in tri-partite talks in Seoul. They warned Pyongyang against carrying out another provocation which will lead to even harsher sanctions.
