Russia’s Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday that the air strikes were successful. Two command posts and several large training camps were destroyed; more than 150 rebels, including foreign fighters, were killed.
The day before, Russia also sent bombers from Hamedan air base for air strikes against the Islamic State and the Jabhat-Al-Nusra terrorist group in the three Syrian provinces of Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor and Idlib. Russian fighters destroyed five large warehouses with weapons, ammunition and fuel, several jihadist command posts and three training camps near Jafra and Deir ez-Zor villages. A large number of militants were also killed.
