(VOVworld) – Russian warplanes stroke a series of terror facilities in Syria on Tuesday right after they had been deployed to an Iranian base, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The raids "eliminated" five major arms depots and several training camps of the Jihad holy war in the cities of Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, and Idlib. The bombers targeted three command points near the villages of Jafra and Deir Ezzor, killing a number of fighters.

This has been the first ever Russian airstrike from the Iranian base since Russia launched an operation to support Syrian President Bashar Al Assad to fight extreme Islamic militants.
