In an interview with the daily Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper on Monday, Patrushev said he doesn’t anticipate rapid improvement of bilateral ties or a removal of Western sanctions because bilateral relations “caught cold” during Barack Obama’s administration.
The Kremlin said it agrees with US President-elect Donald Trump that NATO is a vestige of the past that has done little to fight terrorism. Trump says a lot of NATO members aren't paying what they should, which is unfair to the US, but insists that the alliance is still very important to him.
