In a speech at
the Diplomatic Academy
of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Lavrov pointed out differences between opinions
of some western countries in their relations with Russia. On one hand they are trying
to isolate Russia and on the
other hand they are active in enhancing cooperation with Russia on key
issues, such as the Iranian nuclear program, Arab-Israeli settlement, and the
fight against international terrorism. He stressed that Russia always wants to develop cooperation with the
EU, adding that normalizing relationship with Russia will pave the way for the EU.
