(VOVWORLD) - Russia, Ukraine, and the EU have struck an agreement in principle for the transit of Russian gas to Germany through Ukrainian territory after months of negotiation.

After hours-long talks, Vice-President of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič told the press in Berlin on Thursday that Russia and Ukraine have reached an agreement in principle on all key elements of a new transit deal. More details about the agreement will be discussed in the following days before a formal signing, he added.
