(VOVworld) – Three staff were injured in a mortar shelling targeting the Russian embassy in Damascus, Syria, on Sunday. An investigation is underway. The incident came hours after a Russian TV channel published an interview with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who has accused the West of neglecting to seek a peaceful solution for Syria, while pushing for a UN resolution authorizing force against the Damascus administration. Lavrov agreed for a political solution based on last year’s Geneva agreement signed by all UN Security Council members, the Arab League, the EU, and Syria’s neighbors.
